Special Fundraising Screening for Cine Esteli Giuseppe Tornatore's masterpiece about the power of cinema tells the story of a small Sicilian town, where a young boy discovers the magic of the movies and befriends the projectionist. Winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. A 1950s single-screen cinema in the mountain town of Esteli,Nicaragua, is in danger of being closed down permanently. The building is in disrepair due to lack of investment for many years. Nicaragua, one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere, lacks the funds to invest in infrastructure for cultural activities.
