A Taste of Sussex - Food & Drink Festival Market

From: 12/09/2009 To: 13/09/2009
Location: New Road and Jubilee Road
Fee: FREE

The South's biggest street local food and restaurant market. Featuring the best local fish, cheeses, wines, jams, chutneys, breads and cakes, oysters, curries, and local organic vegetables, which are lower cost than the non organic vegetables found in supermarkets. This year the theme is to support the small local farms and producers. By buying local, you support the local economy and ensure you have fresh healthy produce with lowest food miles. All the people selling at the market actually are part of the process of growing or making the food. So when you buy your delicious goats cheeses from Nut Knowle Farms, say hi the shepherd selling it. or ask the fish seller from Newhaven how the sea conditions were that morning. From farm to fork and saving the local economy AND big savings in your pocket too. The market also features the Children's food Festival in the Pavilion Gardens, with fun foodie entertainment and hands on food making for the kids. In Jubilee Square is the Live Food Stage, watch and learn from top local chefs and sample the tasters, with great competitions to winner dinner at the participating restaurants! The Grande Finale is the Battle of the Bars - Bar Idol, outside in Jubilee Square for the first time. An exhilarating cocktail mixing competition from local bars.
